THE NARRATOR was just progressing to give up on it, since there wasn't really any scenery for my neck of the woods, until I enabled osm2city made scenery. Seriously, this should be the default! VFR flying desperately needs something visual, besides an airport and random textures. Otherwise an enduring fan of this project. Also the Appimage shroud for Linux really picks up the guesswork out of the prepare. 1 user secured this review helpful.
• srtmane Posted 2023-05-13 For a free, flight simulator this is marvelous! Works great on almost every setup. It defines beautiful looking. The plane's controls become easy to learn. The planes are accurately detailed (eg. Cessna) and the physics are really realistic. As you are probably saying MSFS is more rewarding, and indeed MSFS illustrates better but with a cost. For being soundly free, this is amazing!
• jp1tt Sent 2022-11-16 I'm a long-time MS "flier", and I ran across FlightGear and gave topic a try amid my older laptop that can't nearly handle FS 2020, and I gotta say, I'm wafted out of reach in the solid, open-source conforming where this has become! Look...it ain't FS 2020, but supposing your want up to take to the skies in a Cessna (or variety encompassing other planes, a multitude of of at which aren't perfect), then this stands hard to surpass. Particular 172 appeared instantly familiar and everything worked the way I expected. Someone's old Thrustmaster joystick worked with not on your life hassles. YOURS SINCERELY love the scenery auto-download hallmark. I haven't tried multiplayer or a lot of the other features, notwithstanding I'm really relishing it so far. The controls seem a narrow more...quick? harsh? than in MSFS, regardless honestly, they're closer to the response of a real plane than MSFS. Landing seems "harder" in FlightGear in comparison to along MSFS, but that's because landing *is* harder than in MSFS. Kudos to the devs of this. I think you've made something really anomalous.
